I'm here but things have been so crazy. Getting back into my usual activities slowly. But I am alive.

Glad to hear there are still people there. You know, in the time it took to comment on this thread, you could have dropped a quick comment in the Dwarrow thread instead- I dont need much to keep me going, but I do need at least minimal feedback.

Like what you did, Thogrim. If I could just get more of that- I'd keep going.

Hey guys.

I've been quiet lately, partly just because nobody else on the forums appears to be alive. But I also should have mentioned that my mother was in town visiting last week, so that had me tied up a little.

Also, at my place of work there are some changes going on, and I'm jockeying for a potential full time position that might be about to open up. In other words, this might be my first real job.

I'm still RoRing, however. I've been working on something I should be ready to reveal soon, once I work the kinks out. I wont explain it fully, but I'll just tell you that it's something to do with economics and it involves spreadsheets :)

_____________________________________________________
Greetings Loyal and Enlightened Citizen's of the Commonwealth:

It is with heavy heart that I deign to make this proclamation. I had hoped to await the restoration of our forum's appearance before sharing these tidings, but alas, it seems that such restoration is going to be difficult to achieve. Somehow, this seems undignified.

I have decided, after much deliberation, that it is time for me to relinquish my role as an active member of this project. I make this decision not out of anger or frustration, but simple fatigue. The years, it seems, have finally eroded my perseverance and I feel compelled to look elsewhere. I still hold you all in the highest regard, and I hope that my leaving does not insult the incredible outpouring of work, however sporadic, you have contributed over the years. My leaving need not be a death-knell for the project- I'm not the boss here and I never was, I just tried to take charge because I wanted to make things happen.

As for what's next for me, I'm hoping to invest more of my time into self-improvement. As well as increasing my participation at work and practicing more music, I've been trying to resume my programing dabbling. I feel I need to learn this skill and crank out a few primitive games of my own before I can think about trying to design a real one. This is also the only aspect of game design I feel vastly out of touch with, so I feel that it's something I need to do.

In time I may return, if there's anything to return to. Perhaps time away is all I need, we'll see. I will be available to anyone who wishes to contact me, though I will not be checking the forums often (you've all got me on Facebook) If you need any advice or input from me don't hesitate to ask.

And now I must go. Half a decade is is far too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable Hobb... I mean people. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like. And I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. adieu

Farewell my Citizens,
I remain forever yours,

I'm writing a very detailed response to this and to everyone at the moment, for those of you who are still following RoR, please don't see my lack of response as a lack of concern. I know I can't allow that any more.

For now, thank you so much, Macar/ Daud for doing all you've done for this project. A more skilled and dedicated member and co-author this world will never have. It's going to be tough, but right now, things are going to change. I'm going to become my 15-year old self again for one hour per night until this project has productivity as has not been seen here in 3 years.

I hope you come back to full contribution again someday, it's your world as much as mine. But right now, I will focus on giving RoR CPR, along with anybody who will help, and we'll breathe life into it again.

Enjoy your holiday, and you know for sure we'll be talking. :)

Thank you, and farewell, Grand Exalted Ratcatcher.

Wow, I get what you mean Daud, sometimes things run their natural course and come to an end. Im a little lost for words, as the only genuine online community I've ever been in I find my self in a new position were I'm saying good bye to a member of a team, and an important member at that.

I understand that the sporadic style of our progress doesnt suit you, your a do-er, a... erm... pro active person, im not saying we all arnt when were in the mood but i think your suited to a much faster pace. It's going to be a strange forum without the rat catcher running round.

We've only been talking for a few months on real time chat, but even so I feel a genuine sadness at your departure, I hope the winds of fantasy catch your sails and send you on your way to distant lands and experiances.

Rabbits will be cremated alive in your memory.
