Macar's Blog

Postby Macar » Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:34 pm

Welcome to my new weekly blog. Let me explain what I'm up to here: I'm not starting a blog here for general vanity, to give shoutouts to my hommies, or because I have delusions of grandeur. The main reason I'm doing it is accountability: I will tell you what my RoR goals are for the week, and then I'll have to make an effort to finish them. I would encourage other active members to consider making one too.

So, this is a funny week to start this. I'm in the middle of exams, jurrys and general madness- so I can't promise much. I can promis only this: By Sunday I will post the first three topics of the Morim summary.

This week I've got a concert- but after that I'm gonna have some time. Still though, I wont be off the hook untill Monday when I finish my Jurry. * a jurry is a music exam- a very big deal. I'll tell you about my plans for the holiday in next week's blog ;) That's right- it's a cliffhanger!

I wonder if a Jury there is like AMEB here. Do you have grades? Or is it the final/top exam like our emase (sp?).

I'm not sure what those things are. But a jurry occurs at the end of each quarter or semester and determines your grade for your private lessons.

I have fulfilled my promise for the week- so anything more I do will be bonus:

Greetings citizens of the commonwealth,

This week is it- my Jurry is 11:15 on Monday. Pray for me (I need it). After that my long break begins (I still have one exam on Wednesday- but that's nothing). Then I'm off untill mid January, Huzzar!

My promise this week is the completion of the Morim summary and that I will post a WIP of a new music peice. In addition Other things I'd like to do (but I'm not promising) is to post some CA. I'd also like to work on some racial themes- Musical themes to represent the races.

Greetings citizens of the commonwealth,

I'm done :o I passed and now I can relax at long last (rhymzorz). Thanks to anyone who thuogh of me- when you go in there you have to have 8 peices memorized, you choose one to sing and they choose one. I was worried because there was one that I really didnt have memorized, and if they had picked it I would have been screwed to the maxxorz. But they didn't pick it and I was home free. Huzzar

I'm glad to hear that. I know how stressful music exams can be.

So it was a singing exam?

Greetings citizens of the commonwealth,

So, Monday morning I'm going back to Ohio for a couple weeks so my next two blogs will be special editions :D I probably wont be able to write any music while there, but I should have plenty of time to post things. For christmas I'm supposed to get the upgrade to Sibelius 5 as well as Garritan and possibly the Sibelius Sounds: World. So expect some music from me when I get back to Boston.

For the past week I have completed all promises, and even went beyond getting a little art done (posting of said art is forthcomming). Here's the Morim summary for anyone who wants to see it: http://www.realmsofrenth.com/RoRforum ... c.php?t=63 That only leaves the Tiritan, Delari and Dwarrow! Thogrim is supposedly going to do the Delarri (somehow I get the feeling it will fall to me).... and the Dwarrow I assume.

I have to be carefull with my goals this week- since I'm going home to spend time with my family, not be on the computer all day :) Still, I think I'll find time to do at least one or two sections of the Tiritan. After Lady N's briliant work sorting and summarizing the info all that remains is to flesh it out in narrative form. If I have any other time I'd also like to do some art, though at the moment I don't have a clue what I should draw. In addition, I'll probably be able to heckle Nalzay into making a model or two (though I don't know if I should put that in my blog)

Greetings citizens of the commonwealth,

I'm still alive. Turns out I was unmotivated at home, so I've been useless. Fear not, starting Jan 1 you'll have a lot more of my attention, because I'll be back home, and free.

Greetings citizens of the commonwealth,

So, now that I'm back I'm starting to get back into things. I've begun working on "storyboards" for a trailer that I'd like us to make as a group project. It's going to involve art with minimal movement. I'm going to also work on the Tiritan and hopefully get some of that up.

OMG Putfile worked for once! I am blessed to say that for gamers that will be a great video to watch and for us dev.s will look back at that and laugh with joy (when its finished, duhh).

I'm loving the music, too, Macar. One of the best tracks from you I've heard, I'd say :)
