So, here's something I did in less than two days, and I'm not really sure what it is. It was all done in PS with a wacom, without any sketch or refrences, and it's really not my style. (But I might just ditch my "style" for this one, soon.) It was so quick and easy it's well worth the loss of some detail.

Anyway, it lives in the cold and windy north of Nirune, in the northern parts of Northmoors and Stone Tiers. It's big, docile, and roams in groups of 3-4. Most of these live in southern Alciar, and have adopted longer fur.

I've no idea what else to say about it. Tell me what you think.

Its an awsome atmospheric animal... just walking and not seeing life in oblivion really was kind of boring, but seeing these wandering around too just add that little bit of life to the wild. Wildlife!

That's awesome!

I have to say that I greatly enjoy your maps- you've gotten the hang of putting in all those little details that make you want to get in there and explore.

I think that the above creature is also really neat. It's got that "plausable-yet-fantasy" feel that I think is begining to define the bestiary of Nirune.

Does he have a name?

Really detailed, at first I thought the V and E in haven were lakes though... I can't believe there are still only 40 trees

Thanks! I'm avoiding Morthond if you can't tell. I have the least ideas about it's geography. It's outer areas have always seemed rather empty. But, I'll get to it after Cyuranth.

No name as of yet, I don't know what race would have named them. Most likely the Lanviri, being the most scientific race in the northern regions. And yeah, I think our entire focus on the world has shifted to making it all seem as though it could exist. A lot of professional games have cited that as a very important step in creating the world; not everything can be drowned in flashy FX. I think we do need some more interesting and complex creatures, but they will slowly come.

Well here are a few things; one is a very lame and very quick (20 minutes) concept of an idea for Delarri architecture:

And the other is a nearly but not yet finished Satyr;

He might not have to draw a female variant but I'm almost positive we're having both genders in game. Does Reaper know lerbe yet?

Hm, not sure.

Lerbe races are "animal" species that are determined to have like-human intelligence. (Centaurs, Giants, Satyrs, Orya and the like.) There is a list of them that is kept and revised by the Commonwealth. There are few specifications these creatures have to meet to qualify for the list, but the major thing is that they cannot be hostile to Loridic beings unless the Loridics begin the conflict. Those on the list gain protection against hunting and slavery. And usually yeah, there will be male and female versions for these creatures.

So, provided Satyrs aren't hostile, they'll be on the Lerbe list. But, they are sinister, and not overly fond of the superiority of Loridic races, so they might be nasty pieces of work if angered.

is this lerbe and lordic idea something you made up your self? if so thats awesome, really cool idea there. and it straightens out quite a few things too.

Yeah, Lerbe/Loridic was Morgoths idea. But remember, some Lerbe are as smart as the loridic races (like Centaurs for example). But since they werent one of the 10 races that The Underlords created, they are not Loridic.

PS-

Are the fireman's axe weilding dragons going to be ingame :P

Heh, Silverwood said the same thing about the dragon. Well, to clarify to all those who look at my art in the future, the dragon isn't concept art, it was a commission. But, I'm rather fond of showing it off. :P
